Creator Earnings
These Creator Earnings Terms explain how a space earns credits from its posts and how its owner can cash them out. They are part of our User Agreement and apply on top of our Payments and Refunds Policy.
1.1. Spaces Earn
Earnings are paid to the space a post is published in, not to an individual writer. How a space shares its earnings with its writers is between the space and its writers; Boogir is not a party to that arrangement and is not responsible for any claim about it.
1.2. Earning Posts
A post can earn when its subscribers-only part is at least 1,000 characters long. Posts that qualify are marked as earning eligible while you write them.
1.3. How Credits Are Earned
Each time a reader with an active Reader plan unlocks the subscribers-only part of an earning post for the first time, the post gains one unlock. The space earns one credit for every ten unlocks. Unlocks by the post’s author, or by members of the space who can already read the post, do not count.
We may change how credits are earned for the future. We will tell space owners before a change takes effect, and it will not affect credits already earned.
1.4. No Guaranteed Earnings
Boogir does not guarantee that any post or space will earn, or how much. Earnings depend on readers and can change at any time.
2.1. Earning Review
We may review any earning post and decide that it does not earn, for example if it breaks our User Agreement or Community Guidelines, or if most of its subscribers-only part is not original.
2.2. Artificial Activity
You may not increase earnings artificially. This includes:
- using fake or duplicate accounts to unlock posts,
- offering or paying for unlocks, or arranging to unlock each other’s posts,
- publishing content copied from others, or splitting content to create extra posts, and
- using bots or any other automated means.
If we find artificial activity, we may remove the earnings it produced, decline or reverse cash outs, and suspend earning or close the space.
2.3. Reversed Earnings
If the credits a reader used are refunded or charged back, or unlocks turn out to be invalid, we may remove the earnings they produced from the space’s balance, including from a later balance.
2.4. Your Content
You must own, or have the right to publish, everything in an earning post. You are responsible for any claim that an earning post infringes someone else’s rights.
3.1. Requesting a Cash Out
Only a space owner can cash out a space’s earnings, once its balance is at least 1,000 credits. The credits are taken from the space’s balance when the request is made.
3.2. Payee Details
Before cashing out, the owner must add payee details for the space: the payee’s name, payout method, whether the payee is an individual or a business, the company name for a business, an address, and contact details. Every cash out from the space is paid to this payee. The details must be accurate and kept up to date; we are not responsible for a payment sent to details you gave us.
3.3. Payment
The credits are converted at their reference value of USD 0.10 each into the currency you choose, rounded down, and paid through the payout method on the payee details, such as Payoneer or UnionPay. We review every cash out before we send it. The payout provider may charge fees, which come out of the amount paid.
We may ask for proof of identity, tax information, or other details before we send a payment. We may hold or decline a cash out if the law requires it, if the payee does not pass our identity, fraud, or compliance checks, if the payee is subject to sanctions or is in a country we cannot pay, or if we suspect fraud or a breach of these terms. If we decline a cash out for any other reason, we return the credits to the space.
4.1. Taxes
The payee is responsible for reporting and paying any taxes due on earnings. Where the law requires, we may withhold tax from a payment or report it to the tax authorities.
4.2. Your Relationship with Boogir
Earning on Boogir does not make you or the payee an employee, agent, or partner of Boogir, and earnings are not wages or a salary.
4.3. Changes and Ending
We may change or end the earnings program. We will tell space owners in advance, and a space whose balance has reached the cash out minimum will still have a reasonable time to cash it out. If we close a space for a breach of our terms, earnings gained through the breach are not paid.
