Cambodia and Thailand pledge to boost cooperation in education, technical and vocational training


After the Covid-19 disease was alleviated in Cambodia as well as its neighbors, gradually reopened its economy. In addition, many schools have reopened and many students are returning to school normally by following the principles of hygiene and using daily health checking.
Recently, Cambodia and Thailand have pledged more to promote cooperation in the field of education and technical and vocational training TVET. This statement was made during a meeting between Mr. Ith Sam Heng, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, and Mr. Anek Laothamatas, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation of Thailand.
Mr. Ith Sam Heng emphasized that in the context of Industry 4.0, Cambodia is implementing a national policy on technical and vocational education and training to meet the needs of the current labor market.
The Minister praised the good cooperation between the two countries on human resource training, with the Poun Phnom Institute Cambodia-Thailand inaugurated in 2002.
As you already have known in the whole world, education is always valued, because education is the foundation for the development of human resources to grow and create more resources for society to participate in the development of the country and the nation will be progressed through technology, and especially only education can liberate people's lives from ignorance.
In addition, he thanked the Thai government for supporting the development of Cambodia's human resources, especially through Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who has built school buildings for Cambodians in Kampong Thom and Kampong Speu provinces to promote the education sector and help many students to get the education from those schools and getting the new knowledge and modern technology as well.
This participation is a contribution to promote the education sector in Cambodia to grow more then and help to support many students who are from countryside and unamiable to move the city.
On this occasion, Mr. Laothamatas praised and appreciated the rapid development of Cambodia and promised that Cambodia and Thailand will enhance close relationships and cooperation to promote the education sectors more to make human recourses grow faster than before.
and especially he added that education give the ability to read and write to everyone it also increasing self- confidence and furthermore, education helps to develop critical thinking and teaching people how to use logic when making decision and interacting with people. For example boosting creativity idea , enhancing time management.
